I was 4 years old the first time I picked up a fishing pole and as small as I was, I knew that this was something I was going to like. 42 years later, it is still the second love of my life. My wife Betsy, is my first.
I started my fishing life out by catching blue gills and crappie, eventually moving onto bass and then one magical day it happened: I caught a catfish! After that, no other fish measured up. What fighters they are!
Through the years, I have had many rods. I have never had one though, just the way I wanted it to be. They seem to be too flexible, or too stiff; or too long or not long enough, or the guides are too cheap and the inserts pop out; if you are into fishing then you know what I am talking about. As I am not a wealthy person I couldn’t afford the high end rods so I decided to design my own rod to get exactly what I wanted.
I researched the subject on the internet and about 3 years ago I started making my own rods. The first few were like tiny fish; I wish I could have thrown them back, but I did learn from each of those mistakes.
Today, I am very proud of the rods I make. I have the size and flexibility I want as well as the quality of those higher priced rods. After building a few rods for friends, they suggested I start selling them. So, here I am.
I build affordable custom rods. They have the quality of the name brand rods but not the price.
